For the intimate concert at L.A.’s club Roxy, Bono and company reached back to the band’s beginnings for the fan-focused setlist.
“He always thought maybe U2 could be the next Led Zeppelin, which of course is impossible.”
He had been with U2 since 1982.
“It would have been the shortest tour in history.”
Bono says it’ll be one of their smallest shows in four decades.
It happened while he was playing “Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For,” which is kind of ironic, don’t you think?
“If something is going to happen to the tree, let it happen naturally.”
Though they did dress the part, wearing uncharacteristically bohemian clothes.
Even though it’s actually a man and his son.
“I really used to think that my head was harder than any surface it came in contact with, and I don’t anymore. I didn’t come off a Harley-Davidson,” Bono says of his accident. “I came off a push bike and smashed myself to bits. There is no glory here.”
