Katharine McPhee is heading back into the studio to record and she’s teaming up with a few high profile songwriters.
OneRepublic’s new album, Native, is a hit with the general public so far–landing in the top 5 on this week’s Billboard 200 chart–but the band was actually going for a very specific demographic with this record.
With OneRepublic’s new album, Native (out today), leader Ryan Tedder wanted to show a more personal side of the band. He wanted each song to sound like it was straight from the heart, but written specifically for the fans. It’s a songwriting outline Tedder says he stole from U2.
OneRepublic is a band of five completely different guys, who somehow manage to get along. That’s what artist Willo Perron, who worked on the album art for OneRepublic’s upcoming record Native, said after having one dinner with them.
OneRepublic are back and tearing it up with their single “If I Lose Myself.” With a new album, Native, scheduled for release on March 26 (check out a preview if you can’t wait to hear it!) we got the guys into our hot seat for a game of What’s That Song?
Ryan Tedder may be best known as the frontman of OneRepublic but he’s also the mastermind behind many other hit songs heard on the radio. The songwriter and producer has worked with everyone from Adele and J.Lo to Colbie Caillat and Gavin DeGraw so it’s no surprise he hears the music he’s created everywhere he goes.
Ryan Tedder knew his band OneRepublic’s song “Good Life” was a hit the minute he heard it.
