Coldplay surprised fans today with the unexpected release of a new track and accompanying video titled “Midnight,” presumably from their forthcoming album.
Coldplay will contribute an original song called “Atlas” to the soundtrack of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
Chris Martin and the band Coldplay have released a new crowdsourced music video protesting worldwide land grabs for the organization Oxfam, which according to their website “is an international confederation of 17 organizations networked together in more than 90 countries, as part of a global movement for change, to build a future free from the injustice of poverty.”
Chris Martin is auctioning an electric guitar he played on Coldplay’s most recent world tour to raise money for Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.
It seems the band is looking to take a bit of a sabbatical, but no word on when.
