#OnTheList with Xtine: Top Moments From Fresh Fall Fest ft. OneRepublic, Phillip Phillips, & Mike Posner

#OnTheList with Xtine is a weekly feature from Fresh 102.7’s Christine Richie that will be highlighting all things music and more, from her favorite emerging artists, top female vocalists, and much, much more!

Fresh Fall Fest 2016 has come and gone — you can see a complete recap of the night here — and left me with such great memories. We had an awesome audience that sold out the Beacon Theater! They were fun, very loud and passionate music lovers. Usually for me these nights are just a blur because I don’t get to just sit and watch but there are always special moments that stand out and here are my favorites.

Mike Posner doing “Cooler Than Me” acoustic

I played this song a lot on the radio when it first came out, but I’ve never heard Mike Posner‘s “Cooler Than Me” like this. You also can’t beat the audience participation on this one.

Meeting Phillip Phillips for the first time

I definitely watched and rooted for Phillip Phillips on American Idol. He was my favorite on the show, but I didn’t really know too much about him. He recently did an Up Close & Personal event for Fresh and when I looked through the meet and greet photos, he had me laughing. He was making funny faces in every one! That’s when I decided I had to meet him. We talked about those funny faces, the TV show Last Man On Earth, and his new album. He’s sweet as can be and just a normal guy with a whole lot of talent.

I had to get a funny shot with him, but I don’t pull it off nearly as well as he does.

Fortunately, my first meeting with Phillip Phillips was on Facebook Live, so you get to see it here.

Hearing Phillip Phillips live for the first time

I love when we do these shows with artists I’ve never seen before. Phillip said this was just acoustic and I should come see him with the full band, but I was still impressed. The audience loved him as well. I think “Gone, Gone, Gone” was my favorite song from him that night. The audience seemed to be into it too.

Giving a few lucky fans the front row experience

This has and always will be one of my favorite things I get to do at our shows. For some reason, this time it was very stressful for me. We had less tickets to give away and the fans got so excited they were grabbing me and begging me. I wish I could upgrade everyone who had a birthday that night or a bad week, but to keep it fair I just randomly pick people. I started to feel really bad and was worried about disappointing so many fans. The next day I got this tweet and it made me feel so much better.

Finally getting a photo in the legendary elevator at the Beacon Theater!

This has always been something I’ve wanted to do. Every artist who has ever played there signs the elevator. There are some iconic names up on those walls. I’ll never get to sign it, so getting my photo in it is the next best thing!

Ryan Tedder giving the Beacon Theater some love

I love the Beacon, it’s one of my favorite venues and apparently Ryan Tedder feels the same. This was a great moment in the show.

Just a little behind the scenes scoop. I caught Ryan Tedder and Mike Posner chatting and exchanging numbers backstage. Could this be the start of a future collaboration?

OneRepublic playing my new favorite song

OneRepublic‘s new album Oh My My is fantastic and I highly recommend you give it a listen. There is one song that I am completely obsessed with called “Let’s Hurt Tonight” and I was thrilled when I saw it on the setlist. It sounded even better live.

OneRepublic playing “Apologize”

I’ve seen them play live before but they were never better than the were at Fresh Fall Fest. I was completely blown away. They sounded phenomenal, but I thought it was really beautiful when Ryan was at the piano for “Apologize” and the audience (including me) was singing along.

Now, who’s ready for Fresh Holiday Jam?
