Long Island Love for Billy Joel Causes Heated Political Election

We love Billy Joel but we’re not sure if this is a valid political argument.

Prospective Long Island assemblyman and huge Billy Joel fan, Dean Hart is accusing his rival, incumbent Republican nominee Michael Montesano, of not honoring the Long Island local after failing to name a street in the Piano Man’s glory during his six years serving District 15.

According to NY State of Politics, Hart said “My opponent is either impotent or is simply not trying, because everyone loves Bill Joel,” he went on to claim, “No wonder Albany is a mess, our representative can’t do something as simple as renaming a small portion of a road in Billy Joel’s backyard, where there’s near universal support.”

Hart, said if elected he would erect a $1 million statue in Joel’s likeness which would be installed outside of the newly refurbished Nassau Coliseum which reopens Spring 2017.

Will he win based on this reasoning? These days, who knows.
