Sometimes Justin Bieber follows through on his threats.
Over the weekend the singer was frustrated with “the hate” social media users directed at his alleged new girlfriend Sofia Richie (Lionel Richie’s daughter) after he uploaded several photos of the two of them together. He said he would make his Instagram account private if the negative comments continued.
“I’m gonna make my Instagram private if you guys don’t stop the hate,” he wrote in one of the photo captions “This is getting out of hand, if you guys are really fans you wouldn’t be so mean to people that I like.”
This morning, Bieber made good on his threat by deactivating his Instagram account. When fans visit the page a message reads, “Sorry, this page is unavailable.”
For now, Bieber fans can take solace in knowing they can still access his Twitter and Facebook accounts, which remain active. And it may just be a matter of time before Beliebers can see more Instagram pics, since Bieber has a history of not always following through on his threats. Around Christmas of 2013 the singer told Twitter followers he was “officially retiring,” which evidently didn’t occur, reports Billboard
