There are millions of people loving Adele‘s latest album, 25, right now, proven by the record-shattering sales in its first week. Seeing some secondary attention from Adele’s most recent success is Lionel Richie, much in part to the viral success of a mashup pairing two of their hits, both titled “Hello.”
Despite being separated by more than 30 years, the mashup perfectly places them together for the brief 12-second clip, encapsulating the emotion captured by both songs’ lyrics and videos.
That short video might have been the catalyst for a future collaboration, according to Lionel Richie.
In a recent interview with E! News, Richie says, “We are going to be doing something together — that’s already almost in the works… I can almost say that we are talking, but right now she has a mission.” Adele, of course, is fully focused on the recent release of 25, as well as the promotion and tour accompanying it.
Richie’s uncertainty comes with just cause: Adele’s tour will keep her busy as she travels through Europe until mid-June of 2016. She also hasn’t announced any U.S. tour dates, but those will be a likely addition to her schedule and will eat up another few months of Adele’s time.
