Janet Jackson Announces New Album for Fall

Janet Jackson‘s musical return was first noted last summer, when reports of her hitting the studio surfaced, but now it’s official: she just announced her first album in seven years.

The full-length, which follows up 2008’s Discipline, will be released under her new imprint Rhythm Nation, named for her 1989 album Rhythm Nation 1814.

While the details laid out on her website are scarce at the moment, Rhythm Nation was more fully explained.

“At Rhythm Nation Janet plans to offer a home to both new and established recording artists,” the statement reads.
