Gotye Forms New Political Party in Australia

Gotye for president. Well, sort of.

The singer behind “Somebody That I Used To Know” has formed a political party with his band, The Basics. According to The Guardian, Gotye plans to run in Victoria’s state election in Australia this November.

Gotye’s party is named the Basics Rock’n’Roll Party. The Guardian reports that the three pillars of the party include innovation, education and — naturally — rock ’n’ roll.

Objectives include first-aid training in schools and more access to music in rural areas.
