After finishing up The Voice in 2013, runner-up Jacquie Lee joined the cast on The Voice Summer Tour 2014. Touring is still new to the 17-year-old singer, but with her mother on the road with her, she has a strong support system and is adjusting quite well.
“Luckily, I’m really, really blessed to have a great family and a bunch of real friends that I can count on so I know who to surround myself with,” Jacquie said.
Jacquie Lee’s next touring venture is our Fresh In The Park event this Saturday, July 26th, at the Harry Chapin Lakeside Theater in Eisenhower Park – East Meadow, Long Island. With attendees expected from all over the Tri-state area, Jacquie will be performing for a “hometown” crowd, as she is originally from Colts Neck, New Jersey.
“I have performed outside on some occasions but nothing this big,” Jacquie said. “I mean I love Tegan and Sara and Christina Perri… I’m so excited. I listened to ‘Jar of Hearts’ on repeat when Christina Perri released that – and now I hum ‘only human’.”
Another artist that Jacquie is a huge fan of is that red-headed heartbreaker Ed Sheeran. She even admits to having posters of him in her room at home and wanting to take him to her senior prom.
Jacquie then bravely (and jokingly) asks “Ed, will you go to prom with me?” Ed Sheeran, if you are reading this, you should definitely take Jacquie up on her offer!
