Avicii Concert in Toronto Sends At Least 29 People To The Hospital
By Shannon Carlin
This past Saturday night (May 17), a handful of Avicii fans in Toronto partied a little too hard and didn’t even get to see their favorite Swedish DJ perform.
According to the Toronto Sun, at least 29 people ended up in the hospital for “illnesses related to alcohol or drugs.” The paramedics said that 10 concertgoers at the sold out all-ages show had gotten sick before Avicii even made it on stage.
“That number is unusually high,” one officer told the paper. “It’s not typical for that many people to require hospitalization at that kind of concert.”
It’s been reported that the venue, Rogers Centre, did have medics on site, but due to the overwhelming amount of people needing medical assistance were forced to call EMS.
