A secret as old as time: how does one get a boy to kiss them? If it were that simple, boys would be getting kissed everywhere with reckless abandon. While there is no foolproof process for locking lips, Katy Perry knew how to increase her odds exponentially.
The California-born and based artist is currently in New York City promoting the release of “Birthday” — the fourth single from her album Prism — and the accompanying music video.
“I spent a whole Summer at the age of 13 at the skate park,” says Perry, jokingly discussing her Tomboy phase as a young teen. “I knew exactly what I was doing. It’s like, ‘Look at my skate moves. I can ollie. And you now want to make out with me.'”
A sure fire way to get the best of both worlds: hanging with the boys AND getting them to make out with you.
Perry just released the music video for “Birthday,” which shows her dressing in various costumes — a drunk clown, an animal trainer, and a stripper named Goldie with a heart of… well, she’s close to dead — pranking everyone in sight.
Perry’s North American tour also begins this Summer, with a string of dates in the Tri-state area: July 7 at Mohegan Sun Arena in CT; July 9 at Madison Square Garden in NYC; July 11 and 12 at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ; July 24 and 25 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.
