Radio.com Minimation: Perry Farrell Remembers Kurt Cobain

In Minimation, we comb through the archives of legendary New York radio station WNEW-FM and animate interviews with legendary rock artists. This is a 1994 interview with Perry Farrell remembering Kurt Cobain, and discussing how fame was a huge burden to the Nirvana frontman shortly after his passing. This animation was created for Radio.com by Joseph C. Pollack.

In 1994, Perry Farrell was fronting Porno For Pyros, two years after dissolving Jane’s Addiction at the close of the first Lollapalooza tour in 1991. But earlier in ’94, according to SPIN, Courtney Love had called Farrell and asked him to talk to Cobain; he never had the chance to do so, as Cobain died two days after that call.

In this interview with WNEW, Farrell talks about the effect that he felt fame had on the iconic rocker, who is being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with Nirvana on April 10.
