Watch Idina Menzel, The Roots & Jimmy Fallon Perform ‘Let It Go’ from ‘Frozen’
By Shannon Carlin
Idina Menzel rocked everybody’s socks off with her performance of “Let It Go” at the Oscars, but last night (March 2) the Frozen star found a new way to perform the Disney hit, complete with kiddie instruments.
Menzel, showing off her triangle-playing skills, turned the song into a little bit of a Sesame Street jam with help from Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon–playing the blocks and doing a little high pitched harmonizing. His house band The Roots lend backup on the toy xylophone and melodica. A special shout out should go to Questlove, who really knows how to play the kazoo.
As Menzel takes a victory lap with the Oscar-winning song, which helped the song’s co-writer Robert Lopez, win an EGOT (Watch Lopez’s adorable rhyming acceptance speech with his wife, Kristen Anderson-Lopez here), she can only hope people get her name right. On Sunday, John Travolta found a rather interesting way to pronounce her name. She is now Adele Nazeem, at least according to him.
