Deb Gordon’s guest was Rachel Howard, Executive Director of Resources for Children with Special Needs which was founded in New York City in 1983 by three moms who were looking for resources for their disabled children and has grown to become the premier resource regarding programs and services affecting young people with disabilities in the metropolitan area.
The organization shares knowledge and support to empower parents and other New Yorkers who care about and for young people with disabilities. Ms Howard discussed the many programs and services the organization offers including educational services, training, bilingual workshops, advocacy work and a free camp guide.
Spotlighted the Resources for Children with Special Needs Special annual Special Camp Fair happening on Saturday, January 26th at the Pennsylvania Hotel.
The fair is free and open to the community and allows families of children with disabilities the opportunity to meet camp directors and find the right summer program for them.
