It’s hard to top Taylor Swift on any chart, but now the singer proves her generosity is just as tough to beat as her hit singles.
For the second year in a row, Swift topped Do Something’s list of most charitable celebrities. She is followed by the likes of One Direction, Beyoncé, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Carrie Underwood, Alicia Keys, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Blake Shelton, Kendrick Lamar and Justin Bieber.
The 24-year-old “Red” singer recently donated $100,000 to the Nashville Symphony on her birthday. Earlier this year, she headlined an event in London that benefited Centrepoint, an organization which works to help young people who experience homelessness.
Swift was also recently named Tennessean of the Year by The Tennessean, with the newspaper crediting her for being a worldwide ambassador for the state. In October, the Taylor Swift Education Center opened at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, thanks to Swift’s $4 million gift to the museum. Her contribution is two floors and includes three classrooms, a learning lab and in 2014 will also have an interactive exhibit gallery.
