OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder Joins ‘The Voice’
Ryan Tedder is joining The Voice as the show’s first ever in-house producer and songwriter.
The OneRepublic frontman, who has written songs for Adele, James Blunt, One Direction, Maroon 5 and Beyonce, will work with this season’s final three contestants as they prepare for the Dec. 17 finale.
Tedder, who is also an adviser this season, will write a song for them to perform. This marks the first time the show — now in its fifth season — has had contestants perform an original song. The artists’ singles will be available on iTunes immediately after the show airs.
Paul Telegdy, NBC Entertainment’s president of Alternative and Late Night Programming, said in a statement (via Billboard) that Tedder “will be invaluable in both his work with our artists and in creating a song that will capture the essence of our show.”
