Lady Gaga Teases ‘ARTPOP’ Tour, Defends Katy Perry Amidst AMAs Controversy
Last night (Nov. 24), Lady Gaga teamed up with R. Kelly for what appeared to be a Marilyn Monroe/John F. Kennedy-themed rendition of “Do What U Want” on the American Music Awards, but she insists she wasn’t trying to make a commentary on the recent 50th anniversary of JFK’s assassination.
“We were trying, actually, to steer the performance away from Marilyn, that was my attempt! Pretty terrible attempt,” she told Carson Daly this morning (Nov. 25) on Los Angeles’ AMP Radio (a Radio.com station). “It’s really more just about any kind of scandal. I mean, there’s been lots of scandals in the White House, but you know, there’s scandals everywhere else — in pop culture and celebrity life — so I was doing sort of a comment about that.”
