Bryan Adams Releases Photography Book To Honor Wounded Veterans
In honor of Veteran’s Day, Bryan Adams released a new photography book, Wounded: The Legacy of the War, which takes a look at soldiers who cheated death in both Iraq and Afghanistan.
The portraits of British soldiers, which may be too disturbing for some people, document the disfigurements and disabilities these men and women have suffered over the last decade.
The book includes over 100 images of 40 wounded soldiers, all taken by Adams. Each portrait is accompanied by the story of each subject’s journey from injury to recovery.
Proceeds from the book will go to several charities including BLESMA, which supports service men and women who have lost limbs or eyesight during combat; Blind Veterans UK, which provides lifelong support for blind and vision impaired ex-Service men and women; Combat Stress, the mental health charity that helps counsel soldiers with psychological wounds from war including depression, anxiety and PTSD; SSAFA, an outlet that offers help to service men and women, along with their families, and War Child, which is a small international charity that protects children from the brutal effects of war.
