Flowers told NME that he’s planning to spend next year working on his second solo album, the follow-up to his 2010 solo debut Flamingo. He hopes to release the new record sometime in 2015 once The Killers are done touring.
“I’m excited about going home. I’m looking forward to having a normal year. But I’m going to write,” he told the mag. “I’m going to be filing those diamonds, It’s my job…I’m just going to put my heart and soul into my solo record.”
Fans needn’t worry that Flowers decision to go solo again means he’s done with The Killers. In a recent interview with Radio.com, Flowers discussed the future of his band, saying Direct Hits holds a lot of insight for what is yet to come from the rockers.
“I feel like this puts a long of things in perspective,” he said.”When I look at it, I’m really proud of it, but I’m also really excited about evolving and growing. I look at the songs that maybe are my favorites on it, and maybe I’m wondering if I need to conjure up those spirits, if they’re still in there.”
Along with the usual suspects like “Mr. Brightside” and “When You Were Young,” Direct Hits will include two new songs: “Just Another Girl,” produced by longtime Killers collaborator, Stuart Price and “Shot At The Night,” which was produced by M83.
