Lady Gaga‘s new song “Applause” has officially hit the airwaves.

Earlier today (August 12), Lady Gaga called an official “POP MUSIC EMERGENCY” after the song turned up online over the weekend.

The singer took to Twitter to let fans know, this was not a test and that her new ARTPOP single would be released a week ahead of schedule.

Shortly after the tweet, Gaga’s song was out across the radio airwaves and the world got a taste of her electro-heavy new single that yes, does feature a lot of hand clapping.

On the track she sings, “I live for the applause,” like we didn’t already know, telling everyone “Put your hands up/ Make ’em touch/ Make it real now.”
