If Ed Sheeran’s voice were a scented candle, you can bet we’d burn it all day. But, for now, we’ll just have to settle for his silky vocal and even silkier mane of hair.

The A-Team” singer stopped by the Fresh 102.7 studios to woo—I mean, chat with—Jim and Kim about his most recent successes, touring with Taylor Swift, and some of his least favorite nicknames.

Sheeran has played in New York before, and venues keep getting bigger and bigger–from Mercury Lounge, to the Irving Plaza, and now his biggest success yet. He said his favorite New York memory is finding out he sold out Radio City Music Hall this time around.

“When we put that on sale and it sold out within like thirty seconds or something, I didn’t really realize the magnitude of that. I’d never been in Radio City,” he said. “And stepping out on stage there and being like, ‘Oh, this is alright! This is pretty cool.’”

Sheeran has been linked to a few of the young ladies of the music industry, most notably his touring partner Taylor Swift. Sheeran said Swift admires his wisdom but teases the paradox of his maturity saying he’s, “like an 82-year-old man and an 8-year-old boy trapped inside a 22-year-old’s body.”

“Because I like swords and watch ‘Lord Of The Rings,’ and play with Legos and stuff like that,” Sheeran said. “I get really excited about that kind of thing. I bought a Gameboy Color the other day with Pokemon on it! That’s wicked.”

As much as it’s talked about, we have to mention the ginger hair. Actually, Ed mentioned it. His nicknames throughout his life have been centered around his flame-colored locks.

“’Fire crotch’ was never a good one,” he laughed catching us off-guard. “Well it’s not gonna be black is it? Or brown or brunette?”

Valid point, Ed. We can follow that logic just fine.

Outside of whatever color he’s rocking up top or, er, otherwise, he’s got his sights set on the future, and his goals are huge.

“MSG next,” he said. “Let’s do it.”
