This Week On FM Magazine: City Parks Foundation’s Summerstage
Deb Gordon’s guest was Alison Tocci, President and CEO of City Parks Foundation which is the only independent non profit organization that offers park programs in all five boroughs of New York City. City Parks Foundation works in over 750 parks citywide, with a broad range of free arts, sports, and education programs.
Ms. Tocci provided information about City Parks Foundation’s many programs and community building initiatives, which reach more than 600,000 people each year, and contribute to the revitalization of neighborhoods throughout New York City. The Foundation’s mission is to empower citizens to support their parks on a local level and value the small parks in their neighborhoods. Ms. Tocci also discussed the history of City Parks Foundation and detailed the many programs that CPF offers, including free tennis and golf, lessons for New York City children, as well as art and cultural programs.
Spotlighted SummerStage, which is City Parks Foundation’s annual free performing arts festival held in different parks throughout the city that features diverse dance, theater, spoken word and musical performances for adults and kids alike.
