Plain White T’s Dodge More Than Tough Criticism

The Plain White T‘s have traveled all over the world playing music for a variety of people. And with that, comes a variety of things thrown at the band onstage.

While they’ve received such parting gifts as tampons and water bottles, one stands out in lead singer Tom Higgenson’s mind.

“Somebody literally threw up a gift wrapped box of poop,” Higgenson said.

The band said the special present was from someone they knew, but when they opened for a specific rock band, the boys were shocked at the amount of “gifts” they received.

“We opened for Metallica, which was a huge mistake,” Tim Lopez, lead guitar player for the band, said.

The band said they were playing Reading Festival when they opened for Metallica, Dropkick Murphys, Avenged Sevenfold, and Slipknot. As they were playing, bottles began to fly, and not all of them housed beer.

“I dodged a bottle of urine that day,” De’Mar Hilton, the band’s drummer, laughed.

They also claimed the Metallica fans would pack bottles of water with mud and throw those on stage, also.

Needless to say, life has thrown the Plain White T’s a few curve balls… and a few other things, too.
