Goo Goo Dolls bassist Robby Takac told Radio.com that the joint tour between the two bands was set up by the higher-ups.
“I think the agents looked at it and said, ‘Why haven’t we done this yet? This makes sense, we should do this!’” he said with a laugh.

“By the end of the Nineties was probably when the both of our bands were at their most popular,” he explained. “You know, we’re both putting albums out and we’re still on the radio…It’s so rare to see any band that’s put out ten studio albums…has been blessed for 16 years to truly have a real career and make a living with this.”
