New Kids On The Block, Carole King & James Taylor To Play ‘Boston Strong’

Some of New England’s greatest musical exports are coming together for “Boston Strong: An Evening Of Support And Celebration,” a huge fundraiser to take place at Boston’s TD Garden on May 30. Tickets from the show will benefit the One Fund Boston, a foundation set up by Massachusetts governor Deval Patrick and Boston mayor Thomas Menino to  help those most affected by the tragic events that occurred on April 15.

The show will feature Aerosmith, Jimmy Buffett, Extreme, Godsmack, the J. Geils Band, New Kids On The Block, James Taylor, Boston, Carole King,  Jason Aldean and comedian Steven Wright.

New Kids member Donnie Wahlberg was on hand at the concert’s press conference, and told reporters, “Like so many other proud Bostonians who have been extremely generous, we are honored to step up and do our part to help the victims and their families. Hopefully this event will not only raise money, but spirits as well.”

Wahlberg added, “Boston’s gonna f****** rock that night!”

Fellow New Kid, Joey McIntyre, who ran in the marathon, crossed the finish line only five minutes before the explosions.

Tickets for the show will range from $35 to $285, and will go on sale Monday May 6 at 10 am ET. Go here for more information about the show.
