The 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards are just days away and everyone is making their predictions. While Lifehouse was in town we had to ask who their GRAMMY picks would be.
“Man, I hope fun. wins,” frontman Jason Wade told Radio.com. “I think they’re fantastic. They’re just channelling something that’s really special right now.”
Wade said while he enjoyed the band’s first single “We Are Young,” it was “Some Nights” that struck a chord.
“They really made me a fan when they released ‘Some Nights.’ I feel like he channels Freddie Mercury a little bit,” Wade explained. “It’s really timely and authentic. And then when you see them perform the stuff on TV live it’s fantastic. We’re fans.”
fun. is nominated for six GRAMMY Awards including Album Of The Year, Song Of The Year, Record Of The Year and Best New Artist.
Mumford & Sons is another act Lifehouse expects to take home a GRAMMY.
“They take you on a journey and I love albums like that. I feel like they’re one of those bands that are playing by their own rules. They’re not taking their cues from what’s popular and I think that’s why people really respond to it,” Wade said.
A fan of banjos himself, Wade is impressed by the group’s use of the instrument.
“I think anytime you can actually get a banjo to be on pop radio is unbelievable and there’s something special happening there,” he said. “There’s something about their sound. It’s folk, but it’s aggressive too. I really like the texture of that guy’s voice too.”
Will fun. and Mumford & Sons win a GRAMMY? Tune in this Sunday, February 10 on CBS to find out.
