As Ms. Pillsbury explains to the students of McKinley High, the online Urban Dictionary defines diva as a “fierce, often temperamental singer who comes correct” and “does not sweat da haters.”
Unique, Marley, Tina, Brittany, and Blaine, dressed in a very red, very furry coat, have a diva-off, strutting their stuff on the runway to prove who’s on top.
Using their fingers and that snap, they all repeat the wise words of Queen B, “Diva is the female version of a hustler” for a bass-heavy rendition of the song off her 2008 album, I Am…Sasha Fierce. And it’s hard not to agree with them.
Blaine, looking to prove men can be divas too, does his best Freddie Mercury impression on Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now.”
Tina puts her money where her mouth is with a diva-licious performance of Madonna’s “Hung Up.” Is this in reference to her crush on Blaine or is there a new crush in her life?
Santana is also back in Lima (again) and looking to win Brittany back.
She tries first with a performance of “Nutbush City Limits,” that features Tina Turner’s calorie burning dance moves.
And is soon dueting with Sam on the vengeful Kim Carnes and Barbra Streisand song “Make No Mistake (He’s Mine)” changing that “he’ to a “she.” The two go at it on the big ballad, which has them fighting over who can be in her dreams.
But as for her performance of Alicia Keys’ “Girl On Fire,” we’ll have to wait and see if Santana is talking about Brittany or herself.
Kurt is having trouble dealing with Rachel’s arrogant attitude and decides to call her out.
The two take on “Bring Him Home” from Les Miserables. Kurt goes opera for the musical’s ballad.
While Rachel uses her big voice to command the song.
Check out the diva-filled episode this Thursday on Fox.
