Sting Announces 2013 ‘Back To Bass’ Tour
For the third consecutive year, Sting will embark on his Back to Bass Tour.
The tour, which kicks off May 30th in British Columbia, includes 11 U.S. shows throughout June. Full tour dates below, with more expected to be released soon.
Compared to other more out-of-the-box Sting tours of the past, Back to Bass is a fairly straightforward rock concept. The set-up consists of Sting on – but of course – bass and vocals, and his longtime five-piece band consisting of: Dominic Miller (guitar), David Sancious (keyboards), Vinnie Colaiuta (drums), Peter Tickell (electric fiddle) and Jo Lawry (vocals).
The tour will encompass both Sting’s solo catalogue and Police classics, with the promise of “many of his greatest hits.” And while we can’t expect quite as many Police songs as on the band’s 2007-2008 reunion tour, the setlists should please those hoping to revel in the trio’s quintessential hits. Looking at the setlists from Sting’s previous Back to Bass tours, the most commonly-played song is “Every Breath You Take.” Other Police songs frequently included in his setlists include: “Demolition Man,” “Next To You,” “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic,” “Driven To Tears” and “Message in a Bottle.”
