When Adam Lambert saw Les Miserables in theaters over the holiday he had a lot to say about it.
The American Idol alum tweeted his critique of the film, which had the actors sing live instead of lip synching on camera, explaining the score suffered because the actors are just “pretending to be singers.”
He believes they should have used some studio magic to make everyone sound as good as they possibly could.
And I do think it was cool they were singing live- but with that cast, they should have studio recorded and sweetened the vocals.

While Adam champions Dreamgirls, which starred Beyonce and earned an Oscar for fellow Idol, Jennifer Hudson, for using real singers he wonders why Les Mis didn’t try and do the same thing.
The industry will say "these actors were so brave to attempt singing this score live"but why not cast actors who could actually sound good?

It turns out Russell Crowe, who stars at Javert in the movie, doesn’t totally disagree with Adam’s assessment that the vocals could have been sweetened.
The actor, who was the frontman of 30 Odd Foot of Grunts until 2005 and now sings with his band The Ordinary Fear of God, said that the film’s director, Tom Hooper, wanted it “raw and real, that’s how it is.”
Adam, who appeared in the touring production of the Broadway musical Wicked, clarifies that he wasn’t trying to be mean with his comments, but just has high expectations when it comes to movie musicals.
And Adam doesn’t think the blockbuster is all bad, especially Anne Hathaway’s heart wrenching performance of “I Dreamed a Dream.”
One more clarification: DO go see it for Anne Hathaways performance. It's was breathtaking.
