Champagne is perfect for midnight, but this year use it for more than just toasting.
To ring in 2013, make a signature champagne drink that anyone can enjoy, even the kids. Their’s will be booze-free, of course.
For something easy, add champagne to raspberry lemonade. Jamie at My Baking Addiction recommends you make your own by using pureed raspberries, sugar, lemon juice and lots of cold water. Add champagne to taste and garnish with whole berries.
To make it more exciting for the kids, add a splash of ginger ale to get that same fizzy taste.
Martha Stewart has a delicious punch recipe that will definitely get the bubbly flowing.

Her pomegranate-champagne punch combines pomegranate juice, pear nectar and an orange flavored liqueur like Grand Marnier with a little champagne. For a kid-approved mocktail, use a cup of orange juice and a splash of seltzer as a substitute for the two different types of alcohol.
For the lemon rose Bellini, you’ll need a cocktail shaker, but it’s definitely worth it.

Combine lemon sorbet and a citrus flavored vodka with a lot of ice in your shaker. Pour into a flute glass and add champagne. To add a little elegance to the drink, top it with a few fresh raspberries. For kids, use ginger ale instead of alcohol and don’t be stingy with the raspberry garnish!
Kids will enjoy making the Magic Perrier drink, which seems more like a science experiment.

The pretty in pink drink is a mix of cotton candy and sparkling water. Fill a highball glass with a handful of cotton candy and pour the water right over to see it disappear before your eyes.
Use champagne instead of Perrier for a much more adult drink.
