Deb Gordon’s guests were Lee Kushner, Co-Founder of Musical Moments, and Jerry Volk, Vice President of Major Giving at the New Jersey Chapter of the National MS Society, which helps people in New Jersey who are living with multiple sclerosis (MS), a chronic disease of the nervous system.
Musical Moments is benefit concert to raise awareness and funds for MS. This year’s 10th anniversary benefit will be held at the NJPAC on December 11 and feature a concert by Olivia Newton-John. Honorees at the event will include individuals who have made significant contributions to the MS movement.
Ms. Kushner co-founded Musical Moments in 1998, along with her husband Murray, after she was diagnosed with the disease. Ms. Kushner shared her inspirational personal story and discussed the signs and symptoms of the disease as well as the effect it has had on her life.
The New Jersey Chapter of the National MS Society is a beneficiary of Musical Moments and Mr. Volk provided the audience with information about the latest treatment options and the latest research developments, which has been extremely positive. Mr. Volk also discussed the variety of services the Chapter provides including an MS Wellness Center.
