Coldplay is scheduled to ring in this upcoming new year out in Brooklyn, New York with a very special guest. 

Chris Martin’s good friend, Jay-Z will join the band at the Barclays Center for a concert bill that will be double the fun. Recently, Jay and Coldplay shared the stage for the London 2012 Paralympic Games closing ceremony. In 2011, Martin and Jay-Z celebrated New Year’s together when they performed at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas.

In addition to their New Year’s Eve concert, Coldplay is scheduled to play the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut on December 29, along with a warm-up gig at the Barclays on December 30, which will not feature Jay-Z and marks the band’s first performance in New York since 2005

No word yet on whether Coldplay and Jay will take the stage together, but may we suggest a performance of “Auld Lang Syne” when it hits midnight? 

What we’re really wondering though is whether or not Jay’s wife Beyonce will take the stage or if she’ll just be too busy gabbing with Martin’s wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, to perform.

Tickets for the New Year’s Eve show are slated to go on sale Saturday, Nov. 17 at 10:00 a.m., EST.
