5 Of Ryan Gosling’s Movies That Are (Almost) Like His Real Life
Hey girl, it’s Ryan Gosling’s birthday. If you’re as obsessed with his life as you are his movies, hair, smile, accent, chin, shoulders and charm then you might have noticed that some of his movies are similar to his real life.
Does Gosling’s life imitate his art or does his art imitate his life? Is this question too theoretical? Probably, but the proof is in the filmography, which we realize we might know way too much about. Regardless, here are 5 movies that are (almost) like Ryan Gosling’s real life.
Ryan Gosling Has Dated A Lot Of Pretty Girls
To say Gosling’s roster of girlfriends is impressive would be an understatement; Sandra Bullock, Kat Dennings, Blake Lively, Olivia Wilde and Rachel McAdams.
Gosling is a bit of a ladies man in “Crazy, Stupid, Love.” Before falling “Time of your life/Dirty Dancing” in love with Emma Stone, Gosling’s character has a tried and true system of bedding a woman every night of the week.
Ryan Gosling Also Believes In True Love
Impressive roster aside, Gosling also believes in true love. After splitting with Rachel McAdams, Gosling revealed in a 2007 interview that she was “one of the great loves of my life.”
And according to most woman on the planet, “The Notebook” is one of the greatest love stories every told. Their elderly counterparts (James Garner and Gena Rowlands) die in bed together, wrapped in each other’s arms after promising to never forget about one another, even during their late-life senility.
Ryan Gosling Is Just An OK Athlete
Just an OK athlete? Have you seen those abs? Of course we have. But abs don’t equate into athletic ability.
The only athletic endeavour Gosling participated in while growing up was ballet. Not saying that ballet doesn’t involve some athleticism, but the boy didn’t participate in any high school sports either and was even home schooled for a year. You’re not a letterman when you play touch football with your sister in the backyard.
Anyway, Gosling wasn’t that great of an athlete in “Remember The Titans,” either. As defensive back Alan Bosley, he was consistently getting burned by opposing wide outs until he was replaced by Turk… we mean Petey Jones… you know, Donald Faison (Murray from “Clueless”).
Ryan Gosling Is Musically Inclined
Gosling plays a high school dropout in “Blue Valentine,” but he shows some musical chops while playing the ukulele for a tap dancing Michelle Williams. Williams’ character was obviously impressed. Who wouldn’t be? Girls love a man that plays guitar, and a ukulele is like a tiny guitar. It’s like turning a dog into a puppy.
But in real life, Gosling is an actual musician. When he’s not studying lines or making girls melt with his distinct jaw line, he plays in a band called Dead Man’s Bones with his friend Zach Shields. While performing with DMB (STOP, not Dave Matthews Band), he responds to the alias “Baby Goose.”
Being he is such a superb musician, we also decided to make him a birthday playlist.
Ryan Gosling Drives Recklessly
It was revealed in September 2011 that Ryan Gosling was arrested for driving under the influence, which coincidentally was right when his movie “Drive” was released.
Predictably, Gosling plays “The Driver,” a guy who has a secret night job as a, you guessed it, a getaway driver. The profession doesn’t lend itself to abiding by traffic laws.
