At first, the combination of Beyoncé and Clint Eastwood seemed to good to be true. And now it is.
Bey recently announced she will not star in Eastwood’s remake of A Star is Born.
In a statement to E! News, the singer said she was forced to bow out of the film because of scheduling conflicts.
“I was looking forward to the production of A Star Is Born and the opportunity to work with Clint Eastwood,” she said in a statement. “For months we tried to coordinate our schedules to bring this remake to life but it was just not possible. Hopefully in the future we will get a chance to work together.”
After seeing that she posted a photo of herself working in the studio to her website, we all hope that the conflict is the release of her new album. In the meantime though, we’ve thought of a few folks who could take over the role for the fourth version of the film.
Already an Oscar winner for her role in 2006’s Dreamgirls—alongside Beyoncé–the singer has experience in the world of movie musicals.
The American Idol winner just did Sparkle and is the perfect age to play a young ingénue. Bonus: Eastwood could cast her boyfriend, singer Jason Derulo as her destructive love interest in the film.
The Glee star has never been shy about her love for Barbra Streisand, who starred in the 1976 version of A Star is Born. In fact when the legend talked about the young star she tweeted her excitement.
Been working all day and just heard that my idol @BarbraStreisand talked about me on Katie Couric's new talk show! I'm in shock! I love her!—

Now she could put her own spin on Babs’ role. The perfect ode to her favorite performer.
For the newest version, Eastwood could change things up completely and cast a man in the leading role. The AI alum certainly could portray the rising star and look great doing it. And have you seen him take on Queen frontman Freddie Mercury? Hands down he would be a great choice.
Who do you think should be cast? Vote in our poll below or write in your own choice.
