For the last two weeks, Clay Aiken has been using Twitter to defend his name.
After Missouri Congressman Todd Akin, a conservative Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate, caused a political firestorm on August 19 with his comments that “legitimate rape” couldn’t lead to pregnancy, Aiken went on the defensive.
He started by sharing his general distaste for the politician with a similar name.
2nd place on Idol. 2nd place on Apprentice. And now thanks to @reptoddakin I'm only the 2nd stupidest Aiken!

Aiken then began retweeting some funny comments in regards to his own knowledge of the female body.
Ironic, but true RT @TessRafferty: @ClayAiken knows more about how a woman's body works than @RepToddAkin.

Though he poked fun, Aiken also wanted to be very clear about his stance on the issue.
Lets B clear- THIS Aiken RESPECTS a womans right 2 choose. Maybe @reptoddakin could use some lessons from me on the female body! Haha #irony

And let everyone out there know that he is counting down the days until this year’s election is over and he can finally watch his favorite TV shows in peace.
I'm tired of being a swing state! I miss the days when no one spent money on clogging up NC TV stations with political ads! :-/ #overit

You might have read about John Rich’s Twitter beef with Aiken over a comment he made during the run of the GOP convention, but it seems Aiken isn’t taking it to heart. Instead he’s snapping back with his own sassy comments.
My charity is. Why isn't your party? ;-) @johnrich: @clayaiken I thought your charity was for inclusion, not EXCLUSION. What happened?

At the end of the day though, Clay just really wants Cher to know that he’s not so bad.
Im pretty sure u meant "Akin", right? Im a nice guy! Ha! ;-) RT @cher: let Aiken get raped by man with HIV/AIDS.Nothing will happen, right?
