Jordin Sparks Meets Jason Derulo’s Family
For most couples, meeting the parents is one big scary step. But not for Jordin Sparks.
The American Idol recently confessed that she’s head over heels for her boyfriend, singer Jason Derulo. She admits to AOL Music that they started out as friends, but after playing a show together in the Bahamas last year their romance started soon after and they’ve been inseparable ever since. They’re even talking marriage. Things are so serious for the couple of one year that Jason’s even met her family. Sparks told their blog that her mom is pretty difficult to impress, but the two families seemed to hit it off right from the get-go.
“It’s actually really cool because my mom is kind of a hard sell,” Sparks said. “So his mom and my mom sat down and talked like they had known each other for their whole lives.”
Jordin seems to have made a good impression on Jason’s fam as well.
“I love his family, they’re so sweet and huge! Huge Haitian family — I’ll never remember all their names,” she said. “And his family loves me as well. His mom sends me texts.”
Our little Idol is all grown up and she says it will show on her upcoming album, the follow-up to 2009’s Battlefield, which she’s been working on since last year and features some help from John Legend. Sparks chalks this growth up to her new love and has said her love for Derulo is an obsession. Luckily it’s reciprocal, but unfortunately for Jason his fixation with Sparks has led to some serious writers block.
“He literally told me the other day, ‘I’m trying to write this really sad, heartbreaking song, but I can’t do it! And every song that I have right now is about love and it’s going to be a sappy love CD!'” she said.
On August 17, fans can see Jordin in her first feature film, Sparkle, alongside the late Whitney Houston.
