“Who run the world? Girls.” Beyonce‘s words ring true in Forbes‘ latest list of the highest-paid celebrities under 30.
Taylor Swift and Rihanna top the Forbes list with Justin Bieber in the No. 3 slot while Lady Gaga and Katy Perry round out the top 5. This makes four of the five biggest earners females.
Taylor Swift grossed over $1 million per night on more than 65 dates of her tour this year according to Forbes. The country pop songstress raked in $57 million dollars between May 2011 and May 2012 making her the biggest earner under 30. With a new album on the way this fall and a headlining tour likely in the works Taylor continues to earn the big bucks.
The only guy in the top 5, 18-year-old Justin Bieber made an estimated $55 million in the past 12 months. That’s a lot of spending cash. The “Boyfriend” singer has over 45 million Facebook fans and nearly 25 million Twitter followers and with the success of his latest album Believe,Bieber will no doubt be back on the list next year.
Despite Rihanna’s recent lawsuit against her former accountants, she amassed $53 million thanks to popular hit singles ”We Found Love” and “Where Have You Been” in addition to endorsement deals with Vita Coco, Nivea and her own perfume line.
Close behind Rihanna is Lady Gaga, who raked in $52 million. Last year Mother Monster brought in an estimated $90 million making her No. 1 on Forbes list. Currently on tour in Eastern Europe, her earnings next year will likely be higher as Forbes calculated her final earnings before she headed out on tour.
Katy Perry comes in at No. 5 with an estimated $45 million. The only artist besides Michael Jackson to have five No. 1 singles from the same album, Katy’s California Dreams Tour grossed nearly $60 million.
