For months, fans have been speculating whether Jennifer Lopez will say goodbye to American Idol next season. And in a recent interview, the singer finally seems ready to make a decision.
Will she stay or will she go? It’s the question everyone’s been asking about Jennifer Lopez’s future on Idol. While promoting her latest role in Ice Age: Continental Drift on the Today show this morning (July 12), she seemed to be gearing up to say her goodbyes.
“It’s been on my mind a lot, as you can imagine,” she admitted. “You know, I signed on to American Idol to do one year, and … I wound up doing the two years. And now it’s like, ‘OK, do we continue on this journey?’ I’ve loved it so much. I enjoy the show so much. I enjoy just the whole process of the show and the whole thing. So it’s a tough decision either way.”
Though J.Lo admitted the show does force her to put other projects on hold, she played coy, never officially saying she’s leaving AI.
“I know everybody wants that definite ‘yes’ or ‘no,’ and … all I can let you in on is my own thought process with it, because that’s where I truly am,” Lopez said. “And the truth is, I love everybody. I love all the guys on the show. I love the family that’s there. Like I said, I’ve just enjoyed it so much. But I am thinking that maybe it’s time for me to go and do other things that I really love to do.”
While fans still wait with bated breath for an official announcement, Jennifer continues to work on those other projects she loves. Along with her latest movie role, she is developing an hour-long drama for ABC Family about a lesbian couple and their kids.
If that wasn’t enough, she’s expanding her fashion empire with a new digital venture called Teeology. The website will feature limited-edition luxury tee shirts designed by various artists and designers, according to Women’s Wear Daily. Using social networking, members of the site will be able to vote for their favorite designs, which will then be produced specially for Teeology.com. No date has been announced for when the website will officially launch.
