Ladies and gentlemen, we’re about half way through 2012 and there have been a TON of amazing songs to hit the airwaves. Here are some of the best songs from the first half of 2012.

Some you may know, some you may not. Ok, here we go!

Neon Trees – “Everybody Talks”

“Everybody Talks” marks the Neon Tree’s second top 40 hit.


Jason Mraz – “I Won’t Give Up”

“I Won’t Give Up” debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 8 and hit the top spot on the Digital Songs chart, reaching 229,000 downloads in it’s first week.

Kelly Clarkson – “Stronger”

This song lead Kelly Clarkson to become the first artist to top Billboard’s Hot 100 and each of Billboard’s Dance and Club Play Songs, Country Songs, Adult Contemporary, Pop Songs, and Adult Pop Songs charts.


Taylor Swift ft. The Civil Wars – “Safe & Sound”

“Safe & Sound” was released by Taylor Swift via Twitter. In just two days, it sold 136,000 digital copies.

Toby Keith – “Red Solo Cup”

Toby Keith told CMT that this song was the stupidest song he’s ever heard and it’s one of those songs that you’re embarrassed to say you like and that’s why he, and probably everyone else, loved it so much.


fun. – “We Are Young”

You probably first heard and know this song from the Chevy Superbowl commercial, but, actually, the Glee did a cover and the success of that version caught the attention of Chevy advertisers and the rest is history.

Goyte – “Somebody That I Used To Know”

This song was the first song in Billboard history to top Billboard Hot 100, Alternative airplay chart, Dance Club songs, and Mix Show airplay.


The Wanted – “Glad You Came”

Band member, Tom Parker, said the band new this song had to be the first single of their second album because it was a new, refreshing song that they felt was perfect for summer and getting you in the mood to party.

One Direction – “What Makes You Beautiful”

“What Makes You Beautiful” went platinum in Sweden, double platinum in the U.S., New Zealand and Canada, and 5x platinum in Australia.


Hot Chelle Rae – “Tonight, Tonight”

“Tonight, Tonight” went platinum in Australia and Canada and double platinum in the U.S.
