Kris Allen Talks American Idol, Gives His Choice For Winner
Singer Kris Allen has his ear on the pulse of American Idol. And he should, as the winner of season eight of the popular reality talent show, he knows what the contestants go through on a daily basis – from the nerves to the excitement – it can all take a heavy toll. But it all pays off in the end for one lucky (and talented) soul.
Kris recently stopped by the studios at Fresh 102.7/New York to give his thoughts on this season’s talent and who he thinks will walk away with the big win.
Season 11 of American Idol is in the final stages, and one winner is set to be chosen this week! Will it be Jessica or will it be Philip? That’s up to America to decide, but if it came down to Kris he says he’s got his money on Jessica.
“I think they’re both really talented, I really do.” Kris continued, “I think I’ve said from the beginning that I think Jessica should win the show… it’s kind of bananas, really. She’s so good! But Philip is amazing too. I think he’s really talented and has his ‘thing’ so whoever wins they’re gonna be fine either way.”
When it comes down to it, Kris remembers that there is a sense between finalists of knowing that everything will be OK. “When it gets to this point,” Kris says, “it’s like ‘who cares what happens?’” When the big announcement was made at the end of season eight of Idol, back when we all had to choose between Adam Lambert or Kris, Kris remembers being shocked at Adam’s loss but also remembers that he and Adam had spoken throughout the run of the show and were both comfortable knowing that they would “both have a career after this… hopefully.”
“I think the same for those two.”
Kris performed his new single “The Vision Of Love” on the AI on April 19th. In case you missed it, watch it here.
Back in 2010, Kris performed for our CBS Radio Expo at Yankee Stadium. Check out photos from his show below!
