It’s been weeks of speculation but the rumors are true. Britney Spears and Demi Lovato took the stage alongside L.A. Reid and Simon Cowell just minutes ago at FOX’s upfront presentation in New York to fill the world in on what we already thought: Spears and Lovato will become the new judges on the X-Factor.
“L.A. Reid is a class act and he’s a force to be reckoned with and as long as he’s doing the show I’m doing the show,” Cowell said. “Sometimes you have to change things and I think change is good.”
Clad in a tight white dress Britney took the stage with Demi at her side.
“Well, we delivered. Rumors are one thing, delivering is something else,” Cowell said. “This has taken a year to where we got to today and I’m thrilled to reveal the return of L.A. Reid, Demi Lovato and the super star Britney Spears.”
Both Britney and Demi shared their thoughts on joining the show.
“I’m so excited about this whole experience. It’s going to be so different than anything I’ve ever done. I’m ready to find the new star,” Britney said.
“I’m totally stoked to be here, not only for the opportunity to be a judge here [but] I’m excited to represent my generation and I’m ready to find a winner,” Demi said.
L.A. Reid agreed.
“It doesn’t get better than this. This is the Rolls Royce of television right here,” he said.
Celebrating it’s 10th anniversary in the U.K. this year, Cowell said things will only get better in the U.S.
“This year we are seriously going to kick butt with the addition of these guys,” he said before thanking the advertisers. “I promise you we are going to deliver on our promise and make this the best series we have.”
