Rihanna puts animal magnetism on full display for her new video. After weeks of building anticipation for her “Where Have You Been” clip, the singer finally allows a look into her wild kingdom.
The David Meyers-directed video, which hit the internet today, shows Rihanna in fantastic settings, each new set-up brings a new landscape and a fresh look.
The clip opens in the swamp, Rihanna’s stalking eyes on the prowl in some misty wetland. The video is at times trippy or sensual (or both). She and her dancers kick steps in a rocky wasteland, she beckons from a giant owl’s nest, she covers her bare breasts with her arms, she returns to the swamp.
The new video comes with great anticipation from fans who began to countdown the video’s release after Rihanna tweeted a topless picture of herself from the set last month.

Several weeks later she posted more images from the video with a note to her fans: “The countdown to ‘Where Have You Been’ is on . . .”
She followed it up with a series of behind-the-scenes video clips, which offered an up-close look at the process, from choreography to shooting.
Produced by Calvin Harris and Dr. Luke, “Where Have You Been” re-imagines Geoff Mack’s “I’ve Been Everywhere,” a song that has been recorded and popularized by country singers Hank Snow and Johnny Cash.
“Where Have You Been” follows “We Found Love” and “You Da One” as the third single off Rihanna’s Talk that Talk album, which dropped in November 2011.
