During Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg‘s set at Coachella this weekend, the deceased Tupac Shakur made a memorable appearance performing as a hologram. This had us thinking: which pop stars would we want to see as holograms? In Tupac’s honor, here are 10 musicians alive and deceased we think would make for great hologram live performers.
After continuous melt-downs and obvious anger management issues (remember his Twitter rant after the Grammy’s?) the world would be a much nicer place with a nice Chris Brown hologram. Instead of throwing chairs after morning show appearances, he would simply perform his hits and get off the stage. His dance and music skills are undeniable and this hologram would feature this aspect of Brown. Truly, the only side we need to see from the singer.
Adele fans were heartbroken when she had to cancel her tour last year due to vocal cord hemorrhage. Instead of doing this, we could have seen the U.K. songstress live as a hologram. Complete with her raunchy humor, tales of her exes and those powerful pipes it’d be just enough to hold fans over until the real Adele was feeling better.
The music industry mourned the loss of Amy Winehouse just last summer. At the start of recording new tracks for her follow-up to the successful 2006 release Back to Black, unfortunately the completed release never came. So, in lieu of a live tour why not see Amy’s hologram perform her greatest hits? With additional footage from the studio it will make for a unique never-before-seen event.
Since Britney‘s live concerts are majorly lip-synched there really isn’t much use for her to take the stage every night. With her possible next career endeavor as a judge on the X Factor, while she’s busy filming episodes for the talent show fans all over the world can still see her live in concert.
This duo is unstoppable. Currently bringing their party rocking intensity to cities everywhere, wouldn’t it be nice to have LMFAO always at your finger tips? A LMFAO hologram that fits in your pocket could jump start your day, kick you into gear at work after that afternoon slump and make you the life of every party. “Sexy and I Know It” animal print pants not required.
There just doesn’t seem to be enough of Lady Gaga in the world. During any given moment of every day she’s busy recording new music, raising awareness to stop bullying and spearheading her own foundation. Not to mention creating a memorable world tour–that has her spending the whole summer in Europe. With two Lady Gaga’s, imagine all the new outfits Gaga could create and all the little monsters she could inspire! After thinking about it some more, maybe we actually need three Lady Gaga holograms to accomplish it all.
With the unprecedented success of Maroon 5‘s “Moves Like Jagger” a Mick Jagger hologram at every live show is essential. While it’d make for the perfect Maroon 5 concert element to see Mick onstage dancing along to his signature song, it’d be even better if frontman Adam Levine could learn the moves and replicate them in sync. Good luck, Adam and may the odds be ever in your favor.
Jason Mraz’s Old Haircut
It’s been a while since we heard from this free spirited singer-songwriter. Too long, in fact. Since the release of his 2009 chart-topping hit, “Lucky” Jason Mraz has grown an Afro and dons a bandana a la Poison’s Bret Michaels. We miss the old Jason Mraz and would love to see a hologram of Jason and his old haircut shown during his upcoming summer tour.
Who truly cares about Miley Cyrus singing today? While her days of Hannah Montana are long but forgotten, her music and film career still remains in question. She’ll be hitting the big screen this summer in LOL and So Undercover. Instead of seeing Miley in real life, she might actually have more success as a hologram.
With many rock fans disappointment at Guns N’ Roses‘ Axl Rose being a no show at this weekend’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction, if those at the Rock Hall decided to make him a hologram, all would be solved. Though some may have still been angered at his comments against the induction, at least his image could have appeared onstage for all to see, or throw tomatoes at. Do they still do that?
