Deb Gordon’s guest was Dr. Mehmet Oz, the Emmy Award winning TV Personality and author, who is also a heart surgeon and the Vice Chair and Professor of Surgery at Columbia University.
Spotlighted February as heart health month and the impact the disease has on women. Dr. Oz provided crucial data about heart disease including the fact that it affects more women than men. Also discussed were some of the symptoms of the disease and ways that women can lower their risks for developing heart disease.
Dr. Oz will be honored at the Women’s Day Red Dress Awards Gala on February 15, for his work helping people who have been diagnosed, and also creating awareness about the disease.
