2012 GRAMMY Nominees React on Twitter (page 2)
[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Pink[/lastfm], unlike her pop counterparts Gaga and Rihanna, only grabbed one nomination this year, in Best Pop Solo Performance for “Perfect.” But that didn’t make the honor any less special for her.
Just one year after grabbing four nominations, [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Katy Perry[/lastfm] scored only two this year, both for hit single “Firework.” In the middle of a string of tweets, Katy let her 12 million-plus followers know she appreciates the honor.
One of rock music’s bigger representatives both in the Grammy nominations and in the industry in general this year, the [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Foo Fighters[/lastfm] proved that digital recording software and state-of-the-art equipment is not mandatory for creating great music. Their album Wasting Light (and select songs from it) is up for Album of the Year and six other awards, and it was recorded in a garage on analog tape.
According to the band, the album has also broken ground with its female mastering engineer. Here’s to hoping it makes more history with a win! But it will be hard for anyone to beat Adele in that category.
