Pro Shoppers Get Black Friday Started On Thanksgiving Day

Black Friday deals brought shoppers out in record numbers this year, which created chaos in some areas, but also record spending. Some 226 million people shopped at stores and on-line during the four-day Black Friday weekend, up 14 million from last year.

The online market research firm BIGresearch reported that consumers spent an estimated $52 billion during the weekend, which kicked off on Thanksgiving Day in some stores.

So we took to the streets and visited one of the more popular stores for holiday shopping, Toys R Us and asked shoppers how things were going.

We also took calls from people who were out either ON Thanksgiving shopping, or up very early on Black Friday to start their shopping.
