Coldplay’s Mylo Xyloto Album Expected to Top Charts
Billboard reports that Coldplay‘s new album, Mylo Xyloto, is on track to top the album charts next week.
The record is set to sell at least 440-450 thousand copies in its first week of release!
If the band does top the Billboard 200, it will be their third number one album in the US, following 2005’s X&Y and 2008’s Viva La Vida.
And if Mylo Xyloto does in fact sell over 450-thousand copies, it will be the largest sales week for a rock album since U2‘s 2009 record, No Line on the Horizon.

Coldplay feat. Rihanna – Princess of China
Things got pretty weird during the recording of Coldplay’s new album, Mylo Xyloto.
According to NME, producer Brian Eno invited one of his hypnotist friends to the sessions and the band played together while hypnotized. Bassist Guy Berryman says they tried it out but nothing came of the spellbound sessions.
Earlier this week, singer Chris Martin admitted that releasing the new record made him feel “suicidal” after he feared backlash from fans.
Martin may have less to worry about than he thinks.
Coldplay covered Rihanna‘s latest single, “We Found Love,” during their performance on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge.
The British group collaborated with Rihanna on their song “Princess of China,” which is in the top five tracks on iTunes.
