It’s a sad, sad day for ’80s hair band lovers… [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Warrant[/lastfm] lead singer and song writer Jani Lane was found dead in a Woodland Hills, California Comfort Inn hotel.

He’s the guy that kind of looked like Bret Michaels a little bit… yeah, that guy.

There’s no known cause of death for the 47-year-old “Cherry Pie” singer, although he did recently rack up a series of DUIs.

Lane, whose real name was John Kennedy Oswald, found his way back into the spotlight a few years ago when he joined the ranks of the metabolically challenged on VH1‘s show “Celebrity Fit Club.” In true ’80s comeback fashion, he recently shot an episode That Metal Show 3 for VH1. The episode is yet to air.

Lane is survived by two daughters.
