Theater Thursday: Tips on CHEAP Broadway Show Tickets!
OK… I’ve been slacking and haven’t been to a show in a week or two, so I decided to take this opportunity to share with you all the best ways I know to score CHEAP Broadway tickets… because let’s be real: who really wants to pay $200 a ticket to see the Book of Mormon? Not me!
Cheap Ticket Option 1: Rushes, Lotteries and Standing Room Seats
This is my favorite way to go for discounted tickets to Broadway shows. While sometimes a gamble and you really have no guarantee of getting tickets, YOU CAN WIN $26 DOLLAR TICKETS TO SHOWS LIKE BOOK OF MORMON AND WICKED… and most of the time you sit in the front row!
Rushes are different than lotteries as you just have to be one of the first people in line to get the discounted seats to the show. For example, Sister Act offers a RUSH where if you’re one of the first people in line when the box office opens, you get tickets for $26.50. The catch is, each show only has 14 tickets at this price and people can get two each… so if you’re not one of the first 7 people in line, you may be out of luck. The box office opens at 10AM and people start waiting in line as early as 8AM… so with a rush, be prepared to wait!
